A Feast of Senior Tennis in Gerrards Cross
A record of 171 seniors tennis players descended upon Gerrards Cross from 4-8 September 2019 to play in our annual ITF Seniors Tournament, this year generously sponsored by The Frost Partnership.
Tournament Director David Kay stated he was delighted how the tournament had run, with record entries, a staggering 179 matches played over 5 days and record tournament profits which will benefit the club and all its members. The weather was sunny and the colourful international flags, an annual ITF trade mark at this tournament, created a festive tennis atmosphere.
A special welcoming event for ITF players on the Thursday evening themed “ A Pizza, Prosecco and Peroni Evening ", was sponsored by The Frosts Partnership who were thanked by Tournament Director David Kayfor their generous support of the tournament. David also thanked the rest of the organising committee – Toni Marchetti, Marina Lyons & Rene Taylor, the visiting players, Stoke Park for providing extra clay courts on the first 3 days and the GX volunteers team who looked after the players so well during the week.
